Kettlethorpe High School is a large comprehensive school in Wakefield for pupils aged 11-16. The number of pupils eligible for free school meals is broadly average, while the proportion with learning difficulties and/or disabilities is below average. Most pupils are of White British origin although the school has around 5% of pupils whose first language is not believed to be English, mostly pupils of Pakistani heritage. Kettlethorpe is a specialist school for mathematics and computing. It has a Community Learning Centre (CLC) that provides a wide range of courses for the community.
